Modern Apprenticeships
Make it work for you

Workplace Training for Today
A Modern Apprenticeship builds on the best of apprenticeship traditions, but has some great new features. The big difference is that as a Modern Apprentice you'll be assigned to your own personal mentor - A Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator - whose job it is to help you succeed.

Your Co-ordinator will ensure you complete your training with an employer who offers top quality employment-based training.

Your Own Personalised Training Plan
Your Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator will work with you and your employer to develop a personal training plan tailored to your needs. The plan will set out exactly what you need to learn and how you're going to get there.

Modern Apprenticeships - a focus on your success
Your Modern Apprenticeships Co-ordinator will regularly review your progress against your personal training plan to make sure you're on target to successfully complete your apprenticeship.

And just like any good coach or mentor, they'll also be available to deal with any questions or hassles you may have during your Modern Apprenticeship. Feel free to ask them for advice at any time.

A Nationally-Recognised Qualification
Modern Apprenticeships training leads to National Certificates at levels 3 and 4 of the National Qualifications Framework. This means your Modern Apprenticeship will be recognised by employers throughout New Zealand.

In addition to skills specific to your industry's Modern Apprenticeship, you could also learn other key workplace skills, such as information technology and communication skills.
